France Michaud receives Helen G. Mitchell Award

France Michaud, a student in the Teacher EducationPrimary-Junior (French as a second language) program, just received the Helen G. Mitchell Award from the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association (OMLTA). Here is a description of the award:

This award is to honour one graduating student from each Faculty of Education in the province of Ontario who best demonstrates the attributes of a potentially outstanding FSL language teacher (…) The candidate demonstrates excellence in the academic program and the practicum. The recipient applies effective second language methodologies which lead to success in the classroom.

France Michaud was chosen after a consultation with professors who supervised students from the Teacher Education program who have internships in teaching French as a second language as well as professors who have taught the Teaching French as a Second Language courses.

Congratulations to France Michaud for this well-deserved honour!
