Submit your workshop proposal before December 7th

We would like to invite you to submit a 75-minute workshop as part of our yearly Second Language Education Cohort (cL2c) PLC Workshop Day: Every Teacher is a Language Teacher. The 2022 event is scheduled for:

  • Date: February 1, 2022
  • Time: 8:30-11:30 a.m. (EST)
  • Venue: Zoom

If you are interested in delivering a workshop, please complete this Google Form by December 7th 2021 with a draft title, brief description of your proposed workshop (200 words in clear accessible language), target age group, target subject matter, and key words. This information will be shared with the Year 1 students for session registration and will be included in the Teacher Education newsletter.

Due to the targeted nature of these workshops, submissions do not undergo a typical peer review process. We are looking to offer a wide-range of workshops that target literacy and language learning for specific subject-matters, and will be inviting presenters based on the submissions we receive.

For details on how to organize your workshop, please visit our website here (please click on “Information for presenters”). Mimi Masson, the cL2c Cohort Co-Lead, will be reviewing the submissions, feel free to address any questions to her at mmasson@uottawa.ca.

Presenters will also be invited to submit a chapter based on their workshop to our bi-annual publication Every Teacher is a Language Teacher (Vol. 2) after the workshop. You can find details on the submission process here. Please note those who presented in January 2021 are eligible to submit a chapter to the volume, regardless of whether they present again in February 2022 or not.

Please feel free to share this call in your network with other graduate students or teachers you think may be well suited to present at the cL2c PLC Workshop Series.

Thank you in advance for your valuable contribution and we look forward to hearing from you!
